The LPA Spring Convention will be held April 8 & 9 in New Orleans, LA. We are excited about our featured speakers, including Dr. Jennifer Kelly, Immediate Past President of APA.

The Spring Convention promises excellent opportunities not only to gain new knowledge (and gather professional development credit) and reconnect with colleagues, but also to learn from the expertise of colleagues right here in Louisiana. The quality of breakout sessions and poster sessions at LPA conferences typically are highly rated and highly valued, and represent the range of interests of Louisiana psychologists.

We are seeking proposals for breakout sessions with a deadline for submission of Monday, February 21st at 5:00pm. Presentations are expected to follow APA requirements for Continuing Education (CE) in Psychology. Specifically, content should increase knowledge and competencies in psychology service and contributions to the profession, building upon the foundational content of a completed doctoral program in psychology.

Presentations that are chosen for the convention must include supporting evidence and references (within the last 10 years) regarding the evidence-base of the content including limitations, severe and most common risks, and accuracy & utility of material presented.

Breakout Sessions
Breakout sessions will be offered the afternoons of Friday, April 8th & Saturday, April 9th . These sessions are either 90 or 120 minutes in length.  Presentations can span a number of interest areas including (but not limited to) clinical assessment, diagnosis, consultation, legal & ethical issues, early career, diversity, technology, specific populations needs, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
