We are excited to announce that this year’s annual convention will be at the Hilton Garden Inn and Convention Center located at 1001 South Peters Street in New Orleans. Rooms are available through a courtesy room block for $139 per night. This year’s convention theme is Building a Better Future Through Psychology. Keynote Address

LPA is honored to announce that our keynote speaker for Friday, May 31st will be Dr. Amy Beck – clinical and pediatric psychologist from Missouri who is presenting on advocacy in psychology in all its many forms – clinical community, state, national, public, and institutional. Come learn why our voice matters!

Dr. Beck is involved with the Missouri Psychological Association as diversity board officer, federal advocacy coordinator, and legislative chair. She is a division advocacy partner with APA and is a recent graduate from the Leadership Institute for Women in Psychology. She has won multiple awards at the national level for her advocacy and service. Dr. Beck is a clinical and pediatric psychologist at the Center for Children’s Healthy Lifestyles & Nutrition at Children’s Mercy in Kansas City. She has worked with the Office of Equity and Diversity and was the health equity advisor and DEI champion with the department of pediatrics. Dr. Beck was promoted to Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Medicine in 2022. She is currently serving as a licensed psychologist contracting with The Black Girl Doctor – an online therapy practice prioritizing black professional women. LPA is honored to have Dr. Beck present on advocacy in psychology!

LPA is providing an opportunity for you to showcase your success as an author at our Spring 2024 Conference! If you have a published book please consider promoting it at the conference alongside your other colleagues who are also authors. LPA will have an area at the conference for authors at which LPA members can come interact with you and learn about your book. Who knows… someone may even ask for your autograph!
