LPA Continuing Professional Development Opportunities
The LPA Convention & Continuing Education Committee maintains high standards in professional development which requires a keen blending of topics from both science and practice, as well as insight into psychologists’ changing roles. LPA accomplishes our continuing professional development goals primarily through our annual two-day spring conference and our annual one-day fall workshop. Our CE events are live streamed by Zoom on the day of the event for those who are not able to join in person. LPA also co-sponsors workshops with APA and/or with other state psychological associations and offers webinars throughout the year as another means of acquiring continuing professional development hours.
Join with us to enjoy a variety of training sessions, presented by local and national experts, that span a wide variety of topics and areas of interest, including assessment, psychotherapy, and innovations in psychological theory & practice. We include critical topics in neuropsychology, psychopathy, suicide risk assessment, nutritional mental health, organizational development, artificial intelligence, health disparity, rural health, legal and ethical issues, and many more. During our spring conference, we highlight student research with both our poster session and through Science Café – presentation of research currently being conducted by psychology graduate students across the state. Breakfast, lunch, and a networking post-conference wind-down are always included in your registration.
If you are interested in submitting a proposal for a presentation, our Request for Proposals application can be found on our website under the CE tab. Likewise, if you would like to become an LPA event sponsor or exhibitor, or if you know someone who may be interested in doing so, that application can also be found under the CE tab.
Explore with us how today’s psychologists make a difference and all the ways that professional psychology – with our rigorous scientific training and extensive knowledge and experience – can make a more meaningful impact on individuals and communities throughout Louisiana, and also amongst one another.
Please see our previous CE events page for past professional meetings and webinars. For any questions regarding continuing education and CE events, please contact Dr. Gail Gillespie, LPA Convention & Continuing Education Committee chair.
